How do I finish an interview well?
We often get asked “How do I finish an Interview well?” Here’s our advice to make a lasting impression!
While working with a client recently we got towards the end of the interview preparation session and came to a typical wrapping up question. We asked the client how they usually answered “Is there anything you would like to add?”
Their response? “I usually just say something like ‘No, I’m fine thanks’ because I’ve got one eye on the door ready to escape! I just want it to be over”.
Not exactly an ideal way to wow your prospective new employers! So, we explained the importance of wrapping up the interview strongly and leaving the interviewers with a really great lasting impression.
There are three main ways you can do this:
1. If there is something really key to what you can contribute to the role that you hadn’t managed to tell them then make sure you say this here.

3. Strong Final Statement
How do I do that?
Everyone likes to be thanked so begin there! Follow with a short – not more than 30 second – summary of your key skills and what you can bring to the role. Keep it short and snappy and sound like you believe it. For this answer, how confidently you can deliver it is just as important as what you actually say!
We wrapped up that interview preparation session by supporting the client to prepare a really strong closing statement that reflected their skills and was fully aligned with the role that they were applying for.
